Masters Golf Putting Mat

Masters Golf Putting Mat The Masters Golf Putting Mat is a solid, basic mat that measures 41cm x 275cm (16"x108"). It's a no frills affair, but it's really all you need to improve your putting. The hole is cut into a foam section which is raised above the level of the rest of the mat by about 3cm (just over an inch).

Although every putt you will hit therefore goes slightly uphill, we didn't find this to be a problem and most putts seem to react very much as if you putted them on a flat surface.

The material you putt on is slower than most summer greens, but you can speed it up by ironing it with a very cool iron to flatten the material. Do not put a hot iron onto the material, as it will burn!

If you wish to make the surface slower again after you've ironed it, you can use a clothes brush to roughen it up.

The Masters golf putting mat comes in two basic models - standard and deluxe. There is a very small difference in price, and what you get for your money with the deluxe are a yellow "bunker" and a blue "water hazard" on either side of the hole.

There's really nothing exciting to tell you about these areas, although they do make quite good alternative targets for your practice. They're more challenging targets, too, because they're smaller than the hole itself.

What's so good about these mats is that no matter how many times you fold them (and you will because it's way too geeky to have a putting mat out in your living room all the time!) it always unrolls flat again. I've owned the deluxe model for some time and I've never spotted any creases in the material which have deflected my putts.




If you're after a no-frills putting mat either of these two models are excellent options.
